With women making up nearly 50% of employment including manufacturing, construction and other professions requiring strenuous activity, it seems odd that the insurance provided by their employers are lacking. Many employee insurances do not provide paid maternity leave, making it difficult for women who work in lower paying jobs. Also, many women do not qualify for pensions or compensation from their employers in that many of these requirements are geared towards men's benefits. The Stripes Party believes that it is crucial for women in the workforce to receive the same insurance coverage as male counterparts. It's unfair to a new mother when having to choose between work and caring for an infant, even more so, deciding whether or not to serve pregnancy. The Stripes Party is pushing for a federal - state if necessary - law that will require employers to at least partially aid their female employees in receiving paid maternity leave, as well as laws that require employers to revise regulations in which to apply for/receive pensions and/or compensations. This will require a budget that is currently under configuration. Depending on whether it's applied as state or federal law, the process could take anywhere from 2-5 years for regulations must be revised, implemented and successfully executed.
